Erik Satie - Vexations

In celebration of Erik Satie's 100th Anniversary, the International Association of Collaborative Musicians (IACM) and French May Arts Fest will co-present a piano marathon, sponsored by Elements 圓方 (MTR Malls) in attempt to achieve a complete performance of his mysterious creation Vexations, a single-page composition which requires to be repeated 840 times. 

To achieve this, we plan to assemble a team of no less than 168 pianists, all coming from different communities and backgrounds, each to perform the piece 5 times in relay without significant pauses in between throughout the day. 

This event is also graciously sponsored and supported by Consulate General of France in Hong Kong & Macau, World Piano Teachers Association (Hong Kong), Piano Arts Service Limited, Perrier and Lions Clubs International District 303 - Hong Kong and Macau.

GODOWSKY – Passacaglia

In this recital, Hong Kong pianist FU Hou Thai will be playing an all “theme and variations” programme including masterpieces by Brahms, Busoni, Friedman, and Godowsky - opening with a philosophical work of poise and emotional depth by Brahms, before plunging into monumental works of early 20th Century pianistic giants by Busoni, Friedman, and Godowsky. A world premiere of the commissioned piece by local talent flautist/composer/conductor Angus Lee will also be featured.
